The Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office said on Wednesday that it has started a probe into the report submitted by Deputy Prosecutor General and National Investigation Service Director Borislav Sarafov against Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev.
The report was submitted on Tuesday and concerns alleged crimes committed by the Prosecutor General.
The materials have been distributed to prosecutors on a random basis and the supervising prosecutor has ordered an immediate probe.
According to Sarafov’s alert, Geshev has exerted influence on the supervising prosecutor in the so-called Barcelonagate scandal and illegal recording of a member of the Supreme Judicial Council by Geshev.
