Polish citizen Pavel Miholovic, wanted by Serbian judicial authorities, will be extradited from Bulgaria, the Burgas Appellate Court reported on Friday. The extradition of Miholovic is requested in order to conduct a criminal prosecution against him on charges of two separate acts of fraud committed on Serbian territory.
If convicted, the Polish citizen could serve between six months and five years per the Criminal Code of the Republic of Serbia.
Miholovic allegedly visited two jewellery stores in the Serbian towns of Zrenjanin and Temerin, where he used fake ID to sell a fake gold bar to each store. Each store paid about RSD 140,000 per bar.
The Burgas Appellate Court considered correct and lawful the district judges' decision to allow the extradition. The acts described by the Serbian authorities are also crimes under Bulgarian law, the Burgas court said on Friday. The decision to extradite Miholovic is final.
