Democratic Bulgaria (DB) respects Continue the Change's decision to run independently in the early snap elections on October 2 but believes that "only a large-scale alliance of the democratic forces can secure a stable majority, protect the national interest by guaranteeing the Euro-Atlantic course of the country, lead Bulgaria through the many crises and ensure stable governance", Democratic Bulgaria said in a press release here on Friday.

DB added it will focus all its strength on the election campaign and try to motivate all democratically minded people to come out on October 2 and cast their vote for Bulgaria's European future.

"We wish Continue the Change success in the upcoming elections", DB also wrote.

DB and Continue the Change were part of the previous government coalition, headed by prime minister Kiril Petkov. On Thursday, Continue the Change said it would run independently in the snap elections, thus declining DB’s proposal made back in July that the two formations form a coalition before the elections.
