site.btaBus Driver Charged with Negligently Causing Traffic Accident
The prosecution office in the southern town of Stara Zagora has pressed charges against the driver of a Serbian bus that had an accident on Trakia Motorway in Sunday evening as it was taking some 50 Serbian children back home from the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The man is charged with negligently causing the accident, the prosecution service said.
Twelve children and two adults were injured in the accident. No lives were lost.
The 40-year-old driver is identified by his initials, D. K. He tested negative for alcohol and drug use.
He has been remanded for 72 hours awaiting a court warrant for a longer arrest.
