National Assembly Chair Nikola Minchev convenes an extraordinary sitting of the legislature on May 4, the Assembly said in a press release on Thursday. The proposal came from the opposition GERB-UDF coalition.
In connection with the discontinuation of natural gas supplies from Russia's Gazprom Export to Bulgaria, during the extraordinary sitting the National Assembly will hear out Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov, Chief Executive Officer of the Bulgarian Energy Holding Petyo Ivanov, Executive Director of Bulgargaz Lyudmil Yotsov, Executive Director of Bulgartransgaz Vladimir Malinov, Energy and Water Regulatory Commission Chair Ivan Ivanov, Chair of the State Agency for National Security Plamen Tonchev, and Chair of the State Intelligence Agency Antoan Gechev.
The May 4 agenda of the Assembly also includes a draft resolution for Bulgaria to provide military-technical aid to Ukraine.
