site.btaBulgaria Launches Unified Tourism Information Platform
Bulgaria is developing a unified tourism information system portal entitled Discover Your Bulgaria to help tourists discover the country’s attractions and events. The platform was presented at a meeting of tourist information centres at the 21st International Cultural Tourism Exhibition in Veliko Tarnovo on Friday.
Visitors will access information on landmarks, festivals, events, ticket prices, transport, parking and accommodation in more than 30 languages, as the platform will also provide real-time event updates and feedback options.
The exhibition also addressed tourism education and employment, ,presenting data that in 2025/2026, nearly 4,000 university students and 17,000 pupils were enrolled in tourism-related programmes. Only 25% of tourism graduates work in their field, however, while as little as 8.5% run their own tourism businesses.
Other discussions focused on promoting lesser-known cultural heritage, local traditions and festivals, as well as strengthening tourism exchanges between Bulgaria and China.
