site.btaPresident to Confer John Atanasoff Awards

President Iliana Iotova will confer the John Atanasoff Awards at a ceremony in the Coat of Arms Hall of the presidential institution on Thursday. It will be held for the 24th consecutive year, the President's Press Secretariat reported.

Awards will be presented to deserving Bulgarian high school pupils, university students, and young scientists in the field of computer science who have achieved international recognition. Among the honorees are researchers with significant scientific and applied developments, Olympiad competitors in computer science and information technology, promising visionaries who have developed projects with high social impact, and established educators who have trained successful professionals in computer science.

The awards will be presented in several categories: the John Atanasoff Award from the President of the Republic, the John Atanasoff - Pupils and Their Teachers Certificate, the John Atanasoff - Project with High Social Impact certificate, the John Atanasoff - Breakthrough in Computer Science and Technology certificate, and the John Atanasoff – Inspirer and Nurturer of Talent certificate.
