The University of Telecommunications and Posts (UTP) and the United Drone Community launched the Drone ARENA Academy, a new educational network for training, practical experience, and skill development in the field of unmanned aviation on Thursday.

The Drone ARENA Academy was established jointly by the United Drone Society , UTP, and the initiative's partners. The network builds upon the ten years of practical experience gained by the Drone ARENA project through training sessions, demonstrations, competitions, and work with various types of unmanned systems. The Academy aims to unite universities, experts, clubs, organizations, and companies within a shared environment for learning and professional development.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radi Dimitrov, UTP Vice-Rector for Finance, International Affairs, and Administrative Capacity, stated that unmanned technologies are no longer merely a technological challenge but an integral part of industry, security, transport, education, and many other sectors.

Anton Puliyski, Chair of the United Drone Community, spoke about the organization's ten years of experience. "Over these ten years, we have trained more than 5,000 children across more than 140 events that sparked interest in unmanned flight," said Puliyski.

Anelia Marinova, Director General of the Civil Aviation Administration, said that unmanned aviation is no longer a technology of the future but part of people's daily lives. "Today, we see drones over construction sites, agricultural fields, and events; they are used to save lives, extinguish fires, and clean building facades," she observed.

Todor Ivandzhikov, Chair of the Bulgarian Aviation Industry Association, stated that technology is evolving rapidly, and unmanned aerial vehicles are part of this progress. "Drones have been in use for years, but the time has come to establish regulations and rules to ensure they are safe for both users and the public," Ivandzhikov explained.

Congratulatory messages were also conveyed by the State Enterprise "Air Traffic Services Authority," the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies, the Bulgarian Aeromodelling Association, and other institutions.
