site.btaSofia Hosts 4th Democratic Mosaic Festival
The 4th edition of the “Democratic Mosaic: A Stage for Civil Society” festival is taking place in Sofia from September 6–13, the organizers said on Friday. More than 50 civil society and youth organizations will be presenting their causes and initiatives, with over 25 of them participating for the first time.
This year, the festival is moving to a new location, the iconic Slaveykov Square, as the previous venue became too small, said Miroslav Tsekov, Director of the Civic Participation Forum.
The programme features panel discussions, best-practice presentations and interactive workshops on civil society, youth participation and active communities. Organizers stress that democracy is not limited to elections, but is built through civic engagement, activism, volunteering and shared causes.
The "Democratic Mosaic: A Stage for Civil Society" festival is held under the patronage of Sofia Municipality and Sofia Mayor Vassil Terziev. It is organized by the Citizen Participation Forum and the National Youth Forum, with support from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation and the Bulgarian Book Association.
The festival is part of the “Networks in Action” project, funded by the Civic Engagement and Transparency Mechanism of the Bulgarian-Swiss Cooperation Programme.
