Representatives of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Saturday discussed preparations and organization for the April 19 parliamentary elections, the CEC said. The Commission presented to international observers its readiness to conduct the elections, noting that election materials, paper ballots and voting machines are already being delivered to regional administrations and section election commissions across the country, as well as to commissions abroad.

The CEC also outlined additional measures taken to improve the electoral process, including more training materials, more practical methodological guidelines and a mobile application aimed at facilitating the work of section election commissions. Expanded provisions have been made to ensure greater accessibility, including tools enabling visually impaired voters to cast their ballots independently.

Commission members also presented initiatives to enhance accurate and timely information for citizens. For the first time, an interactive election map has been introduced to improve public awareness of the elections, the CEC added.

Voting abroad was also discussed in the context of the latest amendments to the Election Code.

The CEC noted that a larger number of observers have been registered for these elections, which is expected to contribute to greater transparency and public visibility of the electoral process.

PACE representatives expressed positive impressions and assessed favourably CEC's work, highlighting the good level of preparedness for the elections, the Commission said.
