The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) and the Institute of Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IAS-BAS) signed a partnership agreement at the BTA National Press Club in Sofia on Friday.

The deal was signed by BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and IAS-BAS Director Joanna Spassova-Dikova. This is the fifth BAS institute with which BTA has established a systematic partnership. The signing came on World Theatre Day (March 27).

"The purpose of this agreement is to ensure the Institute has a systematic presence in our bulletins, with the materials we receive having properly cleared copyright," said Valchev. He noted that since 2022 the number of publications about IAS-BAS in BTA bulletins has increased to 45 per year, some of which are now also published in English.

"On this momentous day, World Theatre Day, we formalize our relations with BTA," said Spassova. She emphasized that the Institute's mission is the preservation and safeguarding of memory in the field of the arts.
