Employees in the roadside assistance sector staged a protest against the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) on Tuesday. The demonstration was prompted by an investigation by the non-governmental Anti-Corruption Fund Foundation, which contains data on alleged misappropriation of state budget funds through activities related to roadside assistance, protest organizer Encho Andonov explained.

The protesters urged the Regional Development and Public Works Ministry, the Road Infrastructure Agency and the state-owned road maintenance and construction company Avtomagistrali EAD to provide public explanations to the sector on issues related to the awarding of roadside assistance activities, competition in the sector and control over public funds spending.

Participants in the protest carried placards reading "One company does everything - who ordered this outrage?" and "RIA, Interior Ministry, Avtomagistrali = Corruption".
