Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) - New Beginning Deputy Floor Leader Iskra Mihaylova-Koparova told journalists in the corridors of Parliament on Wednesday that President Iliana Iotova had made her decision and nominated Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) Deputy Governor Andrey Gurov for caretaker prime minister. She stressed that Gurov is tightly linked to a political force, as he was Floor Leader of Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB). 

"During the consultations with President Iliana Iotova we were categorical that the President bears full responsibility for the choice of caretaker prime minister and for the work of the caretaker government. We expressed the view that the caretaker prime minister should be as distant as possible from political forces and, if possible, possess the skills and knowledge of state institutions, as well as guarantee fair elections," she added. "Nothing has changed. The only difference is that today the President of Bulgaria made her decision and nominated Mr Gurov as caretaker prime minister," she said.

According to Mihaylova-Koparova, there are also good news - "now no one can say that [MRF - New Beginning Floor Leader Delyan Peevski] determined the caretaker prime minister".

"We expect to see what will happen and how the government will be formed and with what proposals," she added.
