The Border Police General Directorate marks its professional holiday on Monday, the Interior Ministry said. On December 22, 1887, the first Border Guard Act was published in the State Gazette.

On December 15, the Border Police General Directorate reported a 70% reduction in migration pressure from Asian and African nationals this year compared with 2024. In 2025, 18 specialized police operations targeting illegal migration have been carried out, leading to a significant decrease in migration pressure and a substantial reduction in migrant smuggling across the country. More than 60 people have been detained.
