The leader of the Velichie parliamentary party, Ivelin Mihaylov, said that his home was searched on Wednesday morning.

"In the morning, they entered my home and the homes of all the people I know, some of whom had nothing to do with any of this, but they entered there as well, so they could hit everywhere," Mihaylov says in a video posted on his Facebook profile.

He comments: "Something is always invented against anyone who is inconvenient, and then they wait for a deal to be made."

According to the opposition MP, the reason for what is happening now is the authorities' desire to have the 2026 state budget approved. He accuses GERB leader Boyko Borissov of negotiating with the other "players" to keep things quiet. "Borissov and Peevski cannot stay in power any longer, because these people will do this to absolutely everyone and there will never be any prosperity for the country," Mihaylov adds.

He expects that steps will be taken to strip him of his parliamentary immunity.
