site.btaRegional Development Minister: Funds Allocated for Ongoing Municipal Projects to Double in 2026

The 2026 State Budget Bill provides EUR 920 million for ongoing projects of municipalities, which is twice as much as was set in 2025, Regional Development and Public Works Minister Ivan Ivanov said on Tuesday during his visit to Novi Pazar, where he inspected the renovation of the Hristo Botev Stadium.

Ivanov emphasized that to date, project proposals for nearly BGN 8 billion have been submitted and written down in the state budget framework, and the government has the ambition to see them implemented by the end of its term.

According to him, Novi Pazar is one of the examples of good implementation and good absorption of funds from the Investment Programme for Municipal Projects, which is one of the most important for municipalities in Bulgaria.
