site.btaBulgaria Successfully Participates in Multinational Special Operations Exercise Orion-25 in Greece
The multinational exercise Orion – 25, part of joint training for special operations forces, was held from November 3 to 14, 2025, in the Hellenic Republic, the press center of the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence announced here on Monday. In the exercise, Bulgaria was represented by a Special Forces platoon from a formation of the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), working alongside participants from Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Romania, North Macedonia, the United States, France, Croatia, and Switzerland.
The exercise was focused on improving the capabilities to conduct joint special operations and increasing operational interoperability. During the preparation, servicemembers practiced joint tactics, techniques, and procedures, developed their skills for planning and executing independent joint operations, and strengthened their command and control capabilities.
The main concept of Orion – 25 was to deepen mutual understanding, trust, and cooperation among the participating countries, as well as to maintain a high level of readiness through working in a multinational environment. Thanks to the integrated activities and realistic training conditions, the exercise achieved its ultimate goal — enhancing the capacity to conduct joint special operations by developing operational capabilities and reinforcing international relationships.
The participation of the Bulgarian special forces in “Orion – 25” consolidates Bulgaria’s role as an active and reliable partner in collective security and demonstrates the high professional level of Bulgarian servicemembers, the statement said.
