Once the parties forming the parliamentary majority convene, someone will be chosen who can handle this task perfectly, GERB leader Boyko Borissov told journalists in Parliament here on Friday in response to a question about the appointment of a special commercial administrator at Lukoil Bulgaria. The question came in light of reports that Gunvor is withdrawing its proposal to acquire the foreign assets of Russia’s energy company Lukoil, following a position taken by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
“Today, with the law we are introducing, we are copying and upgrading the German model so that by November 21 we will be able to categorically inform our partners that not a single cent will go toward Russian companies that finance the war in Ukraine,” Borissov commented.
“We had foreseen this long ago, because I have quite a bit more information than the others,” he added.
In response to a question about the powers of the special commercial administrator, the GERB leader said that this person will also be able to sell assets.
