Traffic is heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing point on the Turkish border for incoming passenger cars, the Interior Ministry’s General Directorate of Border Police reported on its website. The traffic information at Bulgarian border checkpoints is as of 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

On the border with Romania, ferry services at the Oryahovo-Bechet crossing have been temporarily suspended since August 22 due to the low level of the Danube River. Drivers are advised to use alternative crossings. Major repairs continue on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse, with a temporary traffic organisation in place. Passage is limited to one lane, with traffic regulated by staff from the contractor company.

Traffic is normal at all border checkpoints with North Macedonia and Serbia.

On the Greek border, the road to Xanthi via Zlatograd has been closed on Greek territory to all vehicles from August 25 to September 13 due to repair works. During this period, drivers are advised to use the Makaza crossing.

Construction works are also under way on the Greek side of the Rudozem-Xanthi route. Greek authorities have put up signs stating that the area is a construction site and access by unauthorised persons is prohibited.
