Traffic is heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint with Turkiye for inbound cars, as well as at the Kalotina border checkpoint on the border with Serbia for outbound cars, said the  Border Police on Tuesday morning.

On August 22, the ferry service connecting the border checkpoints of Oryahovo and Bechet on the border with Romania were temporarily suspended due to low water levels on the Danube and strong winds. Drivers are advised to use alternative border crossings.

As renovation of the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse continues, traffic is limited to one lane and is regulated by the contractor’s staff. Traffic is normal at all crossing points.

Traffic has been restored in both directions at the Stanke Lisichkovo checkpoint on the border with the Republic of North Macedonia. Traffic is normal at the other border crossing points.

At the border with Greece, construction works are underway on the Rudozem–Xanthi route. The authorities have posted signs indicating the area is a construction site and bar unauthorized access.

Only passenger cars and minibuses up to 3.5 t are allowed to cross at Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad.
