Cross-border traffic for both passenger and freight vehicles at the Stanke Lisichkovo border control check point with North Macedonia will be temporarily suspended until 4 p.m., Border Police Directorate General at the Ministry of the Interior said on Wednesday morning.
The closure is due to ongoing full-scale reconstruction works at the checkpoint. Authorities advise drivers to plan their travel accordingly by using alternative border crossings with North Macedonia or waiting until the works are completed. Pedestrians will be allowed through in urgent cases.
Traffic at the other border checkpoints with North Macedonia remains normal.
Traffic is also normal at all checkpoints on the borders with Turkiye and Serbia.
At the Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad crossings with Greece, only passenger cars and minibuses up to 3.5 tonnes are allowed. On the Greek side of the Rudozem-Xanthi route, construction works are underway.
Border Police also remind that major repairs are underway on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse, on the border with Romania. Vehicles are allowed to pass in a single lane under the control of the contractor's personnel. Traffic is normal at all other border crossings.
