Fruits and vegetables in Turkiye doubled in price year-on-year in May, according to statistics published in Turkish media on Wednesday. According to the May 2025 Food Price Index data released by the Economic Research Foundation of Turkiye (TEPAV), monthly food inflation in May was 1.21%.

Compared to the same period last year, the price of vegetables and fruits in May in Turkiye increased by 100%, and compared to November last year, the price increase was 200%.

Differences in vegetable prices are shaped by supply chains according to logistics costs, marketing campaigns and stock situation. Particularly for vegetables that are not suitable for transport and have a short shelf life, prices are changing faster in some chains.
