Traffic at Bulgaria’s border crossings remained normal as of 6 am, Border Police said on Wednesday morning.

Major repairs on the Danube Bridge at Ruse narrowed vehicles to a single lane, with contractor staff directing the flow. Reconstruction at Stanke Lisichkovo also reduced lanes, but crossings with the Republic of North Macedonia continued to run smoothly.

On the border with Greece, construction on the Rudozem–Xanthi road inside Greek territory restricted access to authorised personnel only. At Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad, crossing is limited to passenger cars and minivans weighing up to 3.5 t. Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said at the beginning of June that the Greek side has assured him that the Rudozem-Xanthi border checkpoint will soon come into operation.

Traffic stayed steady at all points on the borders with Turkiye and Serbia.
