Since Saturday (January 27) there has been no internet in Bosilegrad, BTA correspondent in the town Alexander Dimitrov said by phone on Monday. He said the fault was in the Besna Kobila mountain, where an emergency team worked on Sunday but was unable to fix the breakdown. A new team was sent to the site on Monday.

"Banks are not working, ATMs are not working, shops cannot be paid with cards. Everybody is stuck, including me, I can't send a text, I can't do anything, we're on the phone and I have two texts ready," Dimitrov said.

He pointed out that he had spoken to the communications operator in charge of the area and they had indicated that they were aware of the fault, which was common and they were working on it.

Dimitrov added that there had been very strong winds in Bosilegrad for the previous three or four days, which even broke the glass on the outer door of the BTA press office in the town. According to him, it is possible that the wind was the cause of the internet connection failure.
