The level of the Danube at Ruse fell by another centimetre over the past 24 hours, reaching 126 cm below the reference zero level, the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River said on Saturday.

The river level also fell by one centimetre at Svishtov, Nikopol, Oryahovo and Lom, while decreases of two to three centimetres were recorded at the monitoring stations near Silistra and Novo Selo.

According to the River Supervision Directorate in Ruse with the Maritime Administration Executive Agency, a vessel ran aground in the area of Batin on Friday and was freed from the sand with the assistance of another vessel.

Hydrological conditions remain difficult. All restrictions on vessel draught remain in force along the entire Bulgarian section of the river.
