A judicial building was evacuated in the Greek capital Athens on Wednesday morning after a bomb threat, the Kathimerini news website said. The building is the former Evelpidon school, a historic military campus that today serves as the main judicial centre housing the court of first instance and the prosecutor's office.
According to the authorities, the call was made at around 9:30am local (and Bulgarian) time on Wednesday, with the unidentified caller giving a deadline of 40 minutes. The alert was sent to the newsrooms of the newspaper Efimerida ton Syntakton and the news website Zougla, according to Kathimerini.
The area was sealed off and the building was evacuated as a precaution. Police units and inspection teams were sent to the scene.
There was no information about any injured people. Checks were launched, Kathimerini wrote.
