• 1879: Bulgarian National Bank performs its first monetary transaction, accepting 8,687,043 francs deposit from State.
• 1914: Diplomatic relations established with Sweden at legation level (upgraded to embassy level on January 14, 1964).
• 1935: Ivan Vazov Museum House opens in poet's native town of Sopot, Central Bulgaria.
• 1977: Diplomatic relations established with Comoros.
• 1990: Diplomatic relations established with Namibia.
• 2006: Bulgarian Tourist Industry Union established on initiative of Bulgarian Association of Travel Agents (BATA), Bulgarian Tourist Chamber and Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association.
