The Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul.

- International Day of the Tropics;

- Danube Day;

- National Day of Seychelles. Independence Day (1976).

On this date in Bulgarian history:

1882: The first monument to Bulgaria's liberators from Ottoman rule, the Russian Monument, is unveiled in Sofia.

1947: An air service is launched between Sofia and Burgas, becoming the country's first scheduled domestic air service.

1965: Constituent congress of the Union of Actors in Bulgaria.

1994: Parliament adopts the Statute of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) (effective until December 1, 2011, when the BTA Act is adopted).

1997: Bulgaria becomes a full member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.

2006: Conscription service is abolished in Bulgaria.
