1910: BTA launches "International Press Review." Renamed "Press Review" in 1914.
1948: New Varna Airport is inaugurated at its present location, 9 km west of coastal city centre. First flight, by converted Junkers 52, lands at 10:40 a.m., bringing VIP guests for occasion from Sofia.

1953: Bulgarian Exarchate is proclaimed Bulgarian Patriarchate by Third Council of Clergy and Laity. Metropolitan Cyril of Plovdiv is elected Patriarch of Bulgaria.
1990: Federation of Consumers in Bulgaria established to protect rights and interests of all Bulgarian consumers.
2004: International Congress Centre opens in Plovdiv (South Central Bulgaria) as part of International Fair.
2005: Parliament adopts Private Enforcement Agents Act, establishing Chamber of Private Enforcement Agents.
2014: First passenger train leaves from Vidin (Northwestern Bulgaria) for Calafat (Southwestern Romania) across second bridge over two countries' shared section of River Danube.
