The world:

  • Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day.

On this date in Bulgarian history:

  • 1877: Metropolitan Yossif of Lovech is elected Bulgarian Exarch in Constantinople.
  • 2000: The Public Council of Ethnic Minorities in Bulgaria is founded. It includes organizations of Armenians, Romanians, Jews, Russians, Roma, Turks and the state authorities.
  • 2000: The Bulgarian Employers Association is set up.
  • 2002: Parliament adopts Protection of Classified Information Act.
  • 2007: An operation on preterm repayment of the entire remaining debt to the International Monetary Fund to the amount of 204.8 million special drawing rights is made.
