site.btaVasylivka Village Opens Celebrations of 195th Anniversary
A festive event on Friday in the centre of the village of Vasylivka, Ukraine, marked the beginning of the celebrations for the 195th anniversary of the village’s founding and the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Vasylivka Municipality in the Bolhrad District of Odesa Oblast.
The administrative center of the territorial community is the village of Vasylivka itself, one of the settlements in Ukraine with a predominantly Bulgarian population.
In a welcoming speech to residents and guests, the Chairman of Vasylivka Municipality, Petar Boychev, highlighted the importance of unity and shared responsibility for the development of the region.
Boychev stressed the vital role of the deputies, members of the executive committee, and local government employees, whose consistent work and joint decisions improve the daily lives of the people. He also expressed gratitude to the enterprises that continue to operate steadily and provide quality services.
The chairman called on those present to observe a minute of silence in memory of the Ukrainian soldiers who gave their lives for the country’s freedom.
Boychev also welcomed the Bulgarian delegation, which included Kiril Valchev, Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency; Svetoslav Ivanov, Bulgaria’s Consul General in Odesa; and Bulgarian folk performer Ilia Lukov, who attended the celebration.
Among the official guests were Valeriy Erbakan, Deputy Chairman of the Bolhrad District State (Military) Administration; Victor Notevski, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Lviv Oblast; Captain 2nd Rank Oleg Onishchuk, Deputy Commander of Military Unit A3163; Lieutenant Colonel Igor Kutsar, Head of the Basic Military Training School at Unit A3163; Valeriy Abadzhiev, former Head of the Financial Administration of the Bolhrad District Administration (2016–2022); and Katerina Katerina Gerzhyk, Director of the Bulgarian-Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Center Media.
In a gesture of appreciation, the municipality chairman awarded certificates to residents who made significant contributions to the development of the Vasylivka community. Among the honorees were medical professionals, cultural figures, educators, and agricultural workers.
