Bulgarian football league champion PFC Ludogorets Razgrad defeated Malmo FF 2-1 as a guest in Sweden on Wednesday night in matchday 1 of the 2025–26 UEFA Europa League group stage.
Ludogorets opened an early lead after a Petar Stanic goal in the eighth minute. His teammate Yves Erick Bile doubled the advantage 13 minutes later. Shortly before the end of the first half, Caio Vidal missed a chance to score a third for Ludogorets, as his attempt hit the goalpost.
Malmo's only goal came in the 78th minute when a shot by Lasse Berg Johnsen bounced off Pedro Naressi's leg, making it impossible for the goalkeeper Sergio Padt to react.
This was Ludogorets's first away win in the Europa League group stage since 2019.
