Ensuring the overall safety of goods and services intended for children on the Bulgarian market is a key priority in the Consumer Protection Commission’s (CPC) work, CPC acting Chair Alexander Kolyachev said Thursday. He was speaking at the launch of the second year of the State Agency for Child Protection’s (SACP) campaign against violence, “Be Brave, Be Good.”
Kolyachev said the CPC monitors children’s products on the market, from strollers to playground facilities, and stressed the importance of enforcing the ban on the sale of tobacco and related products to persons under 18.
According to him, the CPC and SACP work in close partnership in inspecting relevant establishments to prevent violations that may endanger children as consumers. “Together we can build an environment where children are protected,” he said, adding that the goal is also to give parents peace of mind about their children’s health.
