Traffic at the Kalotina border control checkpoint on the Serbian border was heavy for incoming cars, the General Directorate Border Police said on Saturday.

Movement at all border checkpoints with Turkiye and North Macedonia was reported as normal. At the Stanke Lisichkovo checkpoint on the North Macedonian border, renovation works continued, so crossings were limited to reduced lanes.

On the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse, major repair works prompted temporary one-lane traffic, with the contractor’s staff managing vehicle flow. All other checkpoints on the Romanian border operated as usual.

Construction continued on the Greek side of the Rudozem-Xanthi route, where authorities had posted signs marking the area as a construction site and barring unauthorized entry.

At Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad border crossings, only cars and vans up to 3.5 t were allowed.

Due to a scheduled protest on Saturday morning, the Makaza-Nymphaea checkpoint was temporarily closed in both directions, affecting all vehicles. Protesters called for the full reopening of the Rudozem-Xanthi crossing.

No other significant border delays were reported.
