A cooperation agreement and an arrangement for the exchange of lecturers and students under the Erasmus+ programme were signed by the Rector of Duzce University, Prof. Dr. Nedim Sozbir, and Prof. Krasimir Krastanov, Rector of the Todor Kableshkov University of Transport, on July 28, in the Turkish city of Duzce, the Bulgarian university announced on Tuesday.

Duzce University is a state university founded in 2006 that currently has 14 faculties with over 33,000 students.

The signed cooperation agreement aims to develop a long-term academic partnership between the two universities, including student and lecturer exchanges, joint educational programmes, cooperation in research projects, the organisation of international congresses, symposiums and seminars, the exchange of publications, articles and academic materials, and the use of shared laboratories and research areas.

At the working meeting, the two delegations agreed to jointly develop a common master's program in the field of mechanical engineering.

The Duzce Teknopark technology zone was presented to the guests by the head of Duzce Teknopark, Prof. Dr. Resul Kara. It covers an area of 1,500 sq m, with 160 offices, an incubation centre, and a design and innovation centre. Currently, over 400 people work there in more than 130 companies and educational institutions.

The University of Transport was invited to participate with its experts in various future projects and initiatives at Duzce Teknopark, according to the announcement.
