Bulgaria has very good diplomats, the young people who are doing this job are very ambitious, said BTA Director General Kiril Valchev at the National Press Club of the Agency in Sofia. He presented to the trainee attaches at the Foreign Ministry’s Diplomatic Institute the mission and activities of BTA.
Valchev told them about the Agency’s national press clubs around the country and abroad, the restored LIK magazine, the Agency's archive, the global meetings of the Bulgarian media that BTA organizes every year, and the BG WORLD column.
The Bulgarian News Agency has a very long history with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said Tanya Mihaylova, Director of the Diplomatic Institute.
This is a tradition for the Diplomatic Institute - on the eve of Diplomatic Service Day on July 19, we visit BTA with our trainee attaché course because the Agency has a very connected history with the Ministry. Before it was separated as the Bulgarian News Agency, it was part of the Foreign Ministry system, Mihaylova explained.
