From now on, Continue the Change will support votes of no confidence that do not move Bulgaria away from Europe, the party's Chair, Assen Vassilev, told journalists on the sidelines of the Parliament when asked what their approach will be when voting Friday on the no-confidence motion for "failure in the environment and water sector".

He recalled Continue the Change's position to abstain from voting in no-confidence motions until July 8, when the final decision was taken for Bulgaria to join the eurozone on January 1, 2026.

"The eighth of July has passed. From now on we are a clear opposition, we have clearly stated that this Government is harmful for Bulgaria and we will support votes of no confidence that do not take us away from Europe", Vassilev stressed. He clarified that he was speaking only for Continue the Change and not for the entire parliamentary group of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria. "We are a group in which every MP has the right to his personal opinion and is not told by the headquarters what to do," Vassilev pointed out.
