site.btaArmy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team Safely Neutralizes Old Grenade by Kliment Dam

A specialized team for the disposal of unexploded ordnance from the 61st Stryamska Mechanized Brigade, led by Major Krasimir Georgiev, conducted a reconnaissance, identified and destroyed a heavily corroded F-1 hand grenade with fuse in a safe location on Saturday.

The grenade was discovered on July 4 by the wall of Kliment Dam near the village of Kliment in Karlovo Municipality, Central Bulgaria.

The disposal unit was activated with authorization from Defence Chief Admiral Emil Eftimov and on the order of Commander of the Land Forces Major General Deyan Deshkov.
