site.btaNearly 3,500 Foreign Students Study at Medical University in Sofia

The number of foreign students at the Medical University in Sofia is nearly 3,500, of which over 2,100 are citizens of European Union countries, the university told BTA on Wednesday.

The university has students from 72 countries and five continents, with foreign students studying Medicine, Dental Medicine and Pharmacy.

Every year the number of applicants from abroad increases, the Medical University noted, adding they are interested in the quality of education, the reputation of the diploma they will receive at the end of their studies, as well as the student community in which they will live during their studies. Foreign students show particular interest in the opportunities for early clinical training at the patient's bedside, as well as for inclusion in research projects, the university emphasized.
