site.btaUPDATED Sofia Hosts Tour d'Europe in Support of Renewable Fuels

Sofia hosted an event on Friday in support of renewable fuel as part of the European initiative Tour d'Europe, the Bulgarian Petroleum and Gas Association (BPGA) reported. The event, jointly organized by the BPGA and FuelsEurope, took place in Knyaz Alexander Battenberg Square.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov, Transport Minister Grozdan Karadjov, Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov, and Sofia's Deputy Mayor for Environment Nadezhda Bobcheva.
During the Tour d’Europe, ICE light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles are travelling across 20 EU countries between February and June 2025, with a number of stops in selected cities. Local events hosted by policymakers (European, national or local) are held in strategic places to promote the role of renewable fuels and engage with relevant media.
The Sofia stop was part of a series of European events aimed at raising awareness about the importance of technological neutrality and the potential to achieve climate neutrality through diverse solutions. The tour will conclude on June 23 at the European Parliament in Brussels with the presentation of a report summarizing the project’s main findings.
