Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) Chair Maria Filipova and Podkrepa Confederation of Labour President Dimitar Manolov have agreed to interact in the smooth introduction of the euro, the Commission said Thursday. Manolov expressed readiness for Podkrepa to take part in the information campaign organised locally by the CPC.
The two also discussed cooperation in the course of the implementation of the market control by the CPC, the statement said.
“I am glad that another big organisation in Bulgaria and the CPC will be side by side in helping people to respect their rights in the introduction of the euro,” Filipova is quoted as saying.
Podkrepa and the CPC should join forces to protect the interests of employees, who are a significant share of consumers in Bulgaria, in order to minimize the setbacks that are likely to happen during the transition from the lev to the euro. To this end, the trade union confederation will also participate at local level in the information campaign of the CPC through its branches, said Manolov.
