Commenting on the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) – New Beginning’s press release announcing Dzhevdet Chakarov’s resignation as chair of the MRF party, MP Petar Petrov of Vazrazhdane said this is typical of how Delyan Peevski operates, and that the only thing that could possibly change is when he will finally be indicted. Petrov was speaking to reporters in Parliament on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, MRF – New Beginning circulated a press release and photo of a meeting between its leader Delyan Peevski and Dzhevdet Chakarov, the outgoing floor leader of the Democrats for Strong Bulgaria - MRF (DRF-MRF) parliamentary group. The statement said Chakarov had resigned to “close the chapter of division and confrontation that has marked recent months.”
