Bulgaria’s Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov is taking part in the 16th conference of the network of the Prosecutors General of the European Union (NADAL) in Budapest, Hungary, the prosecution service said in a press release on Thursday.
The programme of the conference includes discussions on countering online crime, the challenges and opportunities posed by the digital evolution of justice, and efforts to address environmental crime through national, European and international measures. The event was opened by Hungary’s Prosecutor General, Peter Polt, and the President of the Hungarian Parliament, Laszlo Kover.
In addition to Prosecutor Generals, the event is also attended by representatives from the European Public Prosecutor's Office, the European Commission, EuroJust, the European Judicial Training Network and the International Association of Prosecutors.
The NADAL network aims to create a direct link between the heads of prosecution offices across EU Member States, providing a platform for dialogue on key issues concerning criminal law cooperation and the effective implementation of EU law. The network is named in honour of former French Prosecutor General Jean-Louis Nadal, who initiated its founding in Vienna in 2008.
