The April issue of LIK magazine on the topic "Bulgaria and the World Expos" has been published in Japanese and English. On Sunday, May 18, when Bulgaria Day at EXPO 2025 is celebrated, the edition will be presented via video link with the Bulgarian pavilion in Osaka. The event will be held simultaneously in the MaxiM hall of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) in Sofia. The presentation will also include 41 of the agency's permanent national press clubs in the country and abroad, including the newly opened press club in Gotse Delchev.

The edition is inspired by this year's World Expo in Osaka, which opened on April 13. Bulgaria has its own pavilion.

Some 55 years ago, Bulgaria participated in the World Expo, which was also held in Osaka. LIK magazine recalls how in 1970 this was reflected in the news of BTA. The event caused a stir both in this country and in Japan, as evidenced by quoted articles from the Japanese press. Among the visitors to the Bulgarian pavilion, presented with the vision of four pyramids of aluminum and glass, towering like mountain peaks, was Emperor of Japan Hirohito. The members of the Japanese imperial family tried yogurt for the first time and were impressed by it, and thus it became part of Japanese cuisine and bore the name of Bulgaria.

“The cooperation between Bulgaria and Japan acquired other dimensions after our participation in the World Exhibition in Osaka,” said to LIK engineer Ivan Popyordanov, who developed the audio-visual part of the exhibition in the Bulgarian pavilion at EXPO-70.

The BTA edition also includes a brief history of world exhibitions, starting with the Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations of 1851 in London and continuing to exhibitions today. It also focuses on the International Fair in Plovdiv, created on the example of exhibitions organized around the world. A thematic chronology included in the magazine presents how world exhibitions have been present in the BTA news stream over the decades.
