An exhibition, “The Secret to Living in the Present”, brings together ten artists from the Stockholm-based artist collective Studio44. Their works will be presented on Wednesday at the Belka art space, organizers said.

The event is a follow-up to Belka artists' exhibition at Studio 44 in May 2024.

“The Secret to Living in the Present” explores the delicate and often elusive nature of presence - of total immersion in the present. In a world that constantly pulls us towards the past or projects us into the future, these works stop time by inviting us to reflect, pay attention and be present. Through a variety of practices and media, the artists open intimate and philosophical portals to what it means to live - really live - in the present moment," says the artistic team.

The authors are Andrej Zverev, Ana Maria Almada de Alvarez, Ekaterina Sisfontes, Kjell Hansson, Susanne Hogdahl Holm, Jannike Brantas, Lena Rammi, Katarzyna Piorek, Carolina Hindsjo and Masoud Shahsavari.

"Some works offer a meditative stillness, while others pulsate with the intensity of the present. Matter, memory, perception and slow time are recurring threads. The exhibition does not attempt to define the present, but to immerse itself in it. It invites viewers to slow down, to notice, to breathe - to be. The artists embrace the imperfections of time, the interruptions, the diversions. Together they create a living landscape of attention. Studio 44, as a collective, is based on collaboration, dialogue and shared artistic experimentation. In “The Secret of Living in the Present”, time is not linear, but layered, sensual and subjective," says the team.

After the opening of the exhibition, a concert will be performed by Bulgarian post-punk band “Kake?”.
