The price of BGN 64.95 per MWh, proposed by state-owned supplier Bulgargaz for natural gas in May, is likely to remain basically unchanged under the final decision of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC). This means a decrease by nearly 14% compared with April. The prediction was made by Bulgargaz Executive Director Veselin Sinabov during an open-door meeting hosted by EWRC on Monday.
The supplier has no objections to the EWRC working group report, Sinabov said. According to Milen Dimitrov, the working group leader, there are no new facts and circumstances to warrant a revision of the initial price proposal.
EWRC Chair Plamen Mladenovski scheduled a closed-door meeting of the regulator for April 30 at 3 PM. The meeting should make the final decision on the price of natural gas in Bulgaria in May.
