American opera singer Joyce DiDonato arrives for her first concert in Bulgaria, organizers from SY11 Events said on Tuesday. The concert will take place on May 31, at Sofia's Bulgaria Hall and is part of the second season of the Intimate Voices series.

The programme, titled The Queen, includes intimate songs by Alma Mahler, Claude Debussy and Joseph Haydn, which DiDonato will perform with Grammy Award winning pianist Craig Terry.

The world-class show fits perfectly into the Intimate Voices festival concept of presenting opera megastars in a new light: without any sets, special costumes and stage effects, emphasizing only the immense beauty of the human voice, the organizers said.

The Intimate Voices was created by ​​opera prima Sonya Yoncheva. The chamber music cycle presents rising or established stars of world opera. The first season of the project was in 2023/2024.
