COVID-19 Update:
9,871 New Cases Confirmed,
Test Positivity Rate at 23.5%
Sofia, January 29 (BTA) - The Bulgarian healthcare authorities confirmed 9,871 new cases of COVID-19 in the country on Friday, January 28 after 41,967 tests, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate for the day was 23.5 per cent.
The active cases are 234,012. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,526, including 509 in intensive care. There were 781 new hospital admissions on Friday, 80.2 per cent of them involving unvaccinated persons.
Another 3,069 patients recovered from COVID-19 in 24 hours. Seventy-one new fatalities were reported (88.73 per cent unvaccinated), bringing the death toll to 33,088.
With 12,796 new inoculations on Friday, 4,152,152 vaccine doses against COVID-19 have been administered so far. VE
