site.btaGeorgi Gospodinov and Angela Rodel Are Among Winners of Knights of the Book 2023 Awards
Writer Georgi Gospodinov and translator Angela Rodel, who, as a tandem, won the International Booker Prize 2023 for the novel Time Shelter, are among the winners of the Knight of the Book 2023. The honour, bestowed by the Bulgarian Book Association, was presented at a ceremony in Sofia on Tuesday evening.
Accepting the award on behalf of Gospodinov and Rodel, critic Bilyana Kurtasheva said: "The Knights of the Book wield words, not fire and sword. The Knights of the Book are essentially Quixotes. I think that Georgi and Angela would interpret and accept the award from this perspective."
