On this date in Bulgarian history:

1991: The National Statistical Institute is set up by the Statistics Act, passed by the 7th Grand National Assembly, to replace the Central Statistical Department.

1992: Bulgaria signs the UNECE Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes in Helsinki.

2004: The 39th National Assembly ratifies the North Atlantic Treaty, signed in Washington on April 4, 1949, in force for Bulgaria from March 29, 2004.
